The Iowa High School Press Association (IHSPA) announced the winners of the 2020 Spring Journalism Contest on Wednesday, April 15th. In addition to being named a News Team of the Year Finalist for Class B, there were some other exciting award winners.

Carter also earned recognition as an IHSPA Scholar and for these entries in the spring journalism contest:

  • 1st Place Sports Multimedia Story Class B
  • 1st Place Magazine One Page Design Class B
  • Honorable Mention Sports Photo Class B

2020 IHSPA Scholars

Four Lewis Central Students were named to the 2020 IHSPA Scholars. IHSPA Scholar is an academic honor for the state’s top journalism students. It rewards them with a certificate, a pin to wear at graduation.

Lewis Central’s honorees are Baylee Allan, Sydney Lyons, Autumn Scheer, and Carter Wells.
